Unity Builders, a North Carolina nonprofit home-builder, was started in High Point over a decade ago and works to renovate blighted and deteriorated houses in low-income neighborhoods. The organization also helps low-income families and individuals attain the skills, knowledge, motivation and opportunities they need to become economically self-sufficient.

Burlington

Our client First Bank recently donated two properties in North Carolina areas. The High Point location at 1618 North Hamilton Street will be renovated and used for transitional housing for a family in need. First Bank’s donated Burlington property at 116 North Ireland Street will be renovated into a “halfway home” for young women.

At the property dedication ceremony in High Point, Pastor Terry Young of Unity Builders accepted keys to the houses from First Bank President and CEO Jerry Ocheltree and thanked First Bank for making such a positive impact on the community. “Helping families to become homeowners is a great gift, and we’re happy to be working with you to give that gift to a well-deserving family,” said Young.

What a heartwarming event – and for a great cause! Thanks to First Bank for helping Unity Builders accomplish their mission with these two donated properties.
